AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
Gratitude
As parents we all want our children to be the healthiest and best versions of themselves and more than anything to be happy. Here are a few reasons why little leaders have adopted gratefulness and incorporated it into our program.
Gratitude not only makes us appreciate the good times but to also recognise that life’s challenges can instead be viewed as lessons and it teaches our Little Leaders to attempt to find the good in any situation.
How do we at Little Leaders encourage your Little Leaders to encompass more gratitude into their lives?
Our little leader growth camps are gratitude focused and our programs are designed specifically around our 4 pillars. We aim to have your Little Leaders incorporating gratefulness into their everyday life. Our programs will implement a number of gratitude focused activities as well as the use of our journals. Little Leaders will be presented with their very own wellness journal. The wellness journal provides each leader with an opportunity to reflect on their gratitude, regulate emotions, set goals, and provide a kickstart to being able to make the most of this all important tool as well as many other strategies.
THE BENEFITS OF GRATITUDE
ADOPTING OPTIMISM & CONFIDENCE
Resilience
At Little Leaders we believe resilience is not something that we are born with or without. It’s a constant process that we can continually work at to become better. We refer to resilience as our Little Leader’s potential to address what life throws at us with optimism and confidence in one’s own skill to face adversity and really thrive. According to studies 60.7% of men and 51.2% of women experience at least one traumatic event during their lifetime. Unfortunately many leave it until these
events happen to learn how to better cope with them. At Little Leaders we believe in teaching our little ones skills now to better equip them for when life’s inevitable “curveballs” are thrown their way.
Fun Fact: the word Resilience is actually derived from the latin word “resilire” which means bounce back. At Little Leaders we encourage your little leaders to bounce back from life’s setbacks.
GROWTH ACTIVITIES & CONSIDERATION
Mindfulness
Our busy schedules and filled days can often lead to forgotten details and a lack of mental clarity.
As humans this is an intrinsic part of our nature that has been exacerbated by external factors such as screen time and stressful macro environments. However, as easily as these thoughts come on, they can equally be combated
with the correct processes and mental prompts, even at a young age.
How do we do this at Little Leaders?
Our programs implement a wide range of activities to assist in developing and practicing the skill of mindfulness. Some of these activities include but are not limited to yoga, breathwork, meditation, arts/craft and music.
THE BENEFITS OF MINDFULNESS
TOGETHER, WE ACHIEVE MORE
Teamwork
Teamwork is a critical and essential lifelong skill. As a team, together, we achieve more and at Little Leaders, we aim to provide all children with opportunities and experiences through hands-on activities that enable confidence and courage when working in a team. Teamwork is the ability of an individual to work collaboratively with others to achieve a common goal. Successful teams are the result of sharing ideas and learning from one another. Working together successfully can be
challenging for all young children and at Little Leaders we believe the importance of empowering our leaders to demonstrate an understanding of how valuing differences creates stronger results. Developing team building skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment will help children communicate with others, increase their social skills and self-confidence, and help them to develop into happier adults.
